Frequently Asked Questions
"How did you come up with the design of your rocking chairs?"
Freddie’s inspiration comes from the late American woodworker and furniture designer Sam Maloof.
"How do I purchase a rocking chair?"
The Inventory page on this website will show what is immediately available. Once you decide what chair best suits you simply email or call Freddie (please see Contact page) to start the ordering process.
"Can I have a rocking chair made specifically for me?"
Absolutely, however customers may have to wait months for their rocking chair to be completed, depending on how many orders are already being processed. To best answer this question email or call Freddie (please see Contact page) and ask about the current backordering status. To initiate a backorder, customers will need to sign a purchase order form and provide a 50% non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance is due upon completion of the rocker.
"How long does it take to make a rocking chair?"
This is a great question and it depends mainly on the rocking chair type. Single Rockers usually take 120 working hours, Double Rockers can take up to 180 working hours and the Cradle Rocker takes the longest at around 220 working hours.
"What types of payments are accepted?"
Freddie accepts cash, money orders, cashier's checks or payment via PayPal. A purchase order form will be provided to the customer prior to payment. Customers must sign and return the form, along with payment before the shipping process begins.
"How much does it cost to ship a rocking chair?"
You may choose to pick up the rocking chair yourself or arrange to ship it directly to a location of your choice, with the exception of a P.O. Box. The company we use is called Craters & Freighters and has over 21 years of experience in the shipping industry. Shipping rates vary according to location and weight.
"Will my rocking chair be covered if damaged during the shipping process?"
Your rocking chair will be insured by Craters & Freighters. Once you receive the chair you will need to inspect it and sign a delivery statement noting that your shipment was properly received without any damages occurred during shipping.
"What is your Customer Satisfaction policy?"
If you are not satisfied with your rocking chair you may return it within 30 days of the delivery date. There is no restocking fee required, however customers will be responsible for all return shipping costs. Once the chair is returned, customers will receive a 100% refund of the initial bill minus all shipping expenses.
"What types of wood do you use? On personal orders are you flexible if I desire a specific type of wood?"
Freddie prefers to use hard wood, such as Mesquite or Black Walnut, however, he is flexible if a customer desires a different wood type. Most any hard woods can be purchased locally, however different woods may be more expensive and will reflect in the chair’s final price.
